Conference Theme: Transformative Farming Efficiency

The FutureAg Conference returned in 2025 with three days of insight, innovation and industry-led conversation, running alongside the FutureAg trade exhibition at Melbourne Royal Showgrounds from 6–8 August.

Complementing the FutureAg trade show, the 2025 Conference once again delivered a powerful program of sessions led by respected, experienced and future-focused voices from across the sector.

Located upstairs from the expo floor, the FutureAg Conference was designed for farm owners, agribusiness leaders, researchers and entrepreneurs who wanted to be part of shaping agriculture’s future. Across three themed days, the program tackled the challenges facing modern farming and explored real-world solutions to help attendees do better, build bigger and work smarter.

From cutting-edge machinery and data-driven technology to energy innovation and sustainable practices, the conference focused on what’s practical, actionable and profitable.

The event featured open debate, farmer-led perspectives, and big ideas from across the sector—grounded in real experience, not empty statements.

People over policy. Stories over statements. Innovation over adversity.

To bring this theme to life, each day of the conference explored a distinct focus area shaping the future of farming:

  • Day 1: Innovation

  • Day 2: The Business of Ag

  • Day 3: People Power – bolstering the workforce, building careers, upskilling on farm.

Keynote | Green Efficiency in Agriculture

German agriculture stands for efficiency and sustainable management – significantly supported by digital technologies. Topics such as crop rotation, smart farming, and precision farming play a central role in this. In comparison, Australian agriculture is characterised by large-scale farm structures that require specific management approaches. Interestingly, agricultural businesses in eastern Germany and Eastern Europe show structural similarities to conditions in Australia.
