About Robert

Dr Robert Coe is an internationally recognised plant scientist with decades of applied research experience in crop improvement to address global food security. His early career was shaped by work at the International Rice Research Institute in the Philippines, where he undertook pioneering work to increase the efficiency and yield of rice production in Asia. As an early adopter of digital technologies, he oversaw the development of image-based capabilities to improve gene discovery, breeding and deliver new research insights.

As the former director of a National Infrastructure at Australia's Nation Science Agency (CSIRO) he brings extensive experience in industry-linked research and research translation working across sectors. Rob is now Chief Scientific Officer for Stacked Farm, an international technology company with headquarters in Australia. The company is developing and leveraging end-to-end automation to maximize the efficiency of crop production. He brings a distinctive skillset and intriguing ideas regarding the use of robotics and automation to improve the efficiency and sustainability of international food production.
