About Jennifer
Jen is a passionate, fifth-generation farmer from Gunning, NSW, working with her family to integrate new technologies into their wool and lamb enterprise. She has over 20 years working in the agriculture industry and holds a Bachelor of Agricultural Economics (Hons) from the University of Sydney and a Diploma of Government. She has a wealth of experience driving large collaborative research investments in cross-sectoral issues across agriculture and regional Australia. Including previously overseeing the delivery of more than $100m over five years in innovative projects for AgriFutures Australia, one of the 15 Rural Research and Development Corporations.
Now at the National Farmers’ Federation, she leads the Regional Tech Hub, supporting regional connectivity. For the last three years, Jen has focused on developing strong partnerships with stakeholders and building a responsive team to address regional telecommunication issues. Jen is also a leader in industry and community roles, including as an active executive member on numerous industry and community-based boards and expert advisory groups. One of those roles is Chair of the Yass Branch of NSW Farmers. She is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and recently completed the Australian Rural Leadership Program. Jen is also actively involved in agtech as a mentor with Cicada Innovations and a technology and commercialisation advisor to agricultural startups. In 2023, Jen was awarded the Lambition Award for Industry Leadership and was named Upper Lachlan Citizen of the Year in 2024.
