The Irrigation Situation:  Turning ET Science Into Field-Ready Solutions

The presentation dives into the science behind evapotranspiration (ET) and its role in precision agriculture. It highlights groundbreaking field-based ET measurement using high-frequency temperature tracking, bypassing traditional reliance on meteorological estimates and crop coefficients. Validated against gold-standard eddy covariance towers, the real ET sensing delivers accurate, crop-specific insights into plant water use. Case studies from the U.S. demonstrate enhanced irrigation scheduling, water conservation, and crop quality. This deep tech innovation opens new pathways for agronomic decision-making—bringing rigorous science into everyday farming with unprecedented clarity and resolution.
