Future proofing the Australian agricultural workforce by improving gender equality
The contribution of women to Australian agriculture has long been overlooked. As a result, their access to land other resources has been limited. Dr Lucie Newsome presents recent research from the University of New England on four areas related to women in Australian agriculture: farm succession, women in sustainable farming, the women in agriculture political movement and an evaluation of policies and programs to support women in agriculture. She concludes by setting out an agenda for improving gender equality in Australian agriculture.
