About Tasmyn:
Tamsyn is CEO of Josh's Rainbow Eggs, a free range egg farm north of Melbourne. Tamsyn's love of farming began on a small organic market garden she ran during the Canadian summers as a university student. After completing a Masters degree she worked as a Research Scientist in the Peruvian Amazon investigating the impact of annual flooding on micronutrient malnutrition in young children. She and her husband moved to Australia in 1999 to undertake her PhD. Seven years and four children later she finished her PhD and moved to a farm in the Macedon Ranges. For several years she homeschooled and created a self-sufficient life, supporting each of her children with their own micro-enterprise - Josh’s Rainbow Eggs, Jessica’s Free Range Flowers, Sugar Snap Jack and Jem Berries. Josh’s Eggs was the one that flourished and became her full-time job. In 14 years, the farm has grown from a few thousand hens and a handful of stores, to a farm with 13 sheds, 30 staff and Josh’s Eggs sold in over 300 Coles and Woolworths supermarkets across Victoria.
