Communicating Change to an evolving Agricultural Industry
Being a ‘Change Champion’ is something that’s as rewarding as it is challenging. Resistance in agriculture is a word that strikes fear into a farmer’s heart, but so often it’s resistance to new programs and products that sets the evolution of the modern farm back a generation or more. By refining the message, we can accept AND influence change for a more progressive and sustainable industry.
About Michael:
Michael Cook grew up on the land and has witnessed the ever-evolving nature of Agriculture throughout his career. Starting in agricultural recruitment and moving on to the publishing of technical data magazines, he now works at the frontier of regenerative and organic farming, charged with addressing the challenges of influencing change both on farm and in business.
With nearly 11 years as the Advertising Manager for The Australian Cottongrower and Australian Grain, he was responsible for disrupting the tried and, arguably, proven means by which the supplier and the end user communicated. This position rolled perfectly into Business Development for Growth Agriculture – as it is more vital than ever before for growers and industry members alike to be informed on the changing face of modern agriculture, specifically moving away from synthetic Nitrogen and traditional pesticides.
In the last six months Michael has changed Growth Agriculture’s message to growers and resellers alike, and revels in the ongoing challenge of communicating new products and programs to the agricultural industry.
