Smart Farming and the Benefits of IIoT in the Agri-Food Industry

Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) is improving farming methods by providing connectivity and intelligence via automated systems and monitoring. With the increasing availability and reducing costs of data capture using IIoT, it is now easier to capture data at scale. However, using the captured data to improve productivity, reducing the operating costs, waste, energy and supporting traceability is often not straightforward. In this session, we outline our approach to systematic transitioning to data-driven decision-making using Industry 4.0/5.0 technologies when you do not know how or where to start or want to take your next step in digital capability. We will present specific use-cases from the agri-food industry that have used our approach to gain improvements in product quality, productivity and to track supply chains in real time.
